Compassion Ministries Committee

Compassion Ministry Description:

A “Joyful servant in Christ” seeks to “let their light shine” for Jesus as they reach out into the community and beyond to serve physically (Matthew 25) or directly spread the Gospel (Matthew 28) to others. In both cases, you are able to show others that you “Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” (Matthew 22: 37-38). Christ’s light in you opens up hearts of the un-churched and reawakens the hearts of the churched as you give of yourself for others.

The Compassion Ministry Committee works in conjunction with the church staff to help develop and equip the various ministries of compassion supported by the congregation of Shepherd of the Hills. Each ministry listed below has its own planning committee but falls under the auspices of the Compassion Ministry Committee for coordination and administrative purposes.
